Is timber framed construction more environmentally friendly?
Yes! Timber used by Bentley Timber Frames, comes from sustainable managed sources. The forests created to supply this demand continue to grow year on year. Timber frame has the lowest CO2 cost of any commercial build method.
What is a typical external wall panel insulated with?
As a general rule, we use Hybris (concertinaed foam) or PIR (Hard Foam) within our external wall panels. Whatever your design, we will work with your architect to ensure your project achieves the specified U-Values.

How long does it take to erect a timber frame building?
Obviously this depends on the size of the project, however, as a rough guide, it would take approximately 3 to 4 days to erect the timber frame on an average sized detached house
Will the completed construction look any different to traditional block and brick?
No, Internally and externally the appearance will look the same.
Will timber frame result in higher building insurance premiums?
No, as it is recognised as a mainstream construction method as much as brick and block.
What information do I need to provide to get a quote?
In order for us to provide you with a quotation for your project, we will require the following information:
- Plans and elevations
- Sections and site plans (if available)
- The U value requirement for external walls if known (if not, then consider if you’d like your new home to perform well, better, or best – this gives us a guide to work from)
